“If other students want to achieve First Class Honours, they need to maintain high score in the Diploma stage. One of the reasons I was able to achieve First Class Honours was because I did well in my Diploma in Law.”
“I would also encourage student’s pursuing their law degree in Northumbria University to read and research outside of the text with materials such as journals and periodicals as this will add marks to their examinations.”

“The programme has been created to be very flexible meaning I was able to optimise my ‘study’ time around my existing obligations. The weekend classes also allowed me to maintain my performance at work and still be able to make time for the most important people in my life - my family.”
“Anyone wanting to do their MBA should be prepared to put in the extra hours to ensure that they’re able to complete the programme, but at the same time make more friends and widen their social circle, after all, business is all about contacts and networking.”

“I was never expecting to get 1st Class Honours, as I always felt that I was just an average student, I suppose all the hard work and extra hours after work that I had put in paid off.
When studying part time, it is never easy, because you have to juggle a lot of things; but I was determined to graduate, the First Class Honours came as a bonus”

“I take pride in being the top student of SEGi College Kuala Lumpur for 2008. First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my parents and my brother who always keep a close caring eye on me and always seem to be there when I needed help and support. Further, I wish to extend my sincerest thanks to my friends who encouraged and motivated me as we undertook the course and worked towards our diploma graduation. I have overcome many challenges and hindrances during the college life. Without help from my wonderful friends, my success would never have been possible. I have a lot of precious memories which I will treasure forever. I am certain my parents are glad to see what I have achieved so far.
I would also like to thank my lecturers. Throughout the two and a half years of college life, there were always lecturers around to give me valuable guidance and share valuable experiences. I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the High Achiever’s scholarship that I have received from the SEGi Scholarship Board. This gave me an opportunity to receive quality education for which I am very thankful.” Lim Chiao Yen

“I would recall those days when I was taking my Montessori course part time, I would wake up at 5 in the morning, when my son, Lorenzo was not yet awake and start writing my essays. I would then set my books aside to prepare him for his playschool and then hurrying to come home, breastfeed him, put him to sleep so I can dress up to go to the college and attend to the 3 hour lecture. After which I would quickly drive home to play with him and then cook dinner before my husband arrives home from work. I would then continue working on my assignments when my son has gone to bed and end my work before the clock strikes 12. And during this same time, I was pregnant with my second child, Mikaela.”
“Let me take this chance to thank the college that became our second home, a place that nurtured not just our brains but also our hearts. Thank you for the first class service, the state of the art facilities, and more importantly, the very dedicated and selfless professors who have continuously inspired us and made us believe that we too can reach our chosen destiny.” Joanna Joy Ong-Balinghasay

“This prize does not come as a surprise to me but I am still very proud of what I have achieved today. I made the choice to do ACCA because, being an international paper, it’s more challenging. All the hard work and effort has paid off.” Lim Sei Haw

“My lecturers are one of the reasons I passed the exams with flying colours. It was tough work studying to pass the examination. I went through a lot of stress. It is trite knowledge that the ACCA exams are one of the toughest for professional accountants to achieve. I'm glad I managed to pull through and not give up hope when I felt it was too difficult,” Leong Pei Chee

“When I first received the email notification from SEGi, I was surprised and couldn’t believe that I was being presented with the Dean’s Award.”
“…I could relate and apply the subjects that I studied to my everyday work environment which helped me to understand the content and get more out of the programme. I was also able to sharpen my business skills in management by taking the units that encompassed leadership, strategic management, organisational behaviour and the economic aspects of doing business.”
