Specially designed for working adults, the Executive Diploma in Information Technology provides students with the knowledge to utilise and manage cutting-edge technologies. The programme focuses on providing excellent and high quality education through a motivating environment, which is based on student-centered learning.
The Executive Diploma recognises prior learning and skills gained through work experience as entry into the programme. Instead of a higher education diploma that would normally take 3 years, the Executive Diploma is for working adults and can be completed in just 1 ½ years.
The mass media is a wide-scope industry, incorporating traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, books, manuscripts, television and radio, as well as Internet media such as blogs, podcasts, video sharing and web portals.
The Executive Diploma in Mass Communication prepares students to take on the exciting and glamorous world of media. Whether graduates wish to become a broadcaster, television host, radio deejay or a magazine editior, the Executive Diploma in Mass Communication incorporates both knowledge and practical hands-on approach putting them at the forefront of this industry. Students will learn how to write radio programmes, write news and feature articles, and report events, gaining valuable knowledge, skills and attributes applicable to many components of mass communication in advertising, marketing, good journalism and public relations.
Students will also be given an insight into production and publication and will learn good reporting and editing skills, interviewing techniques that will sustain compelling news articles or features, and visual communication, to enhance the general public’s demand for photographic evidence via the broadcasting medium of TV, Internet and other mass communication technology.
Public relations is also an integral part to mass communication and students will learn the skills to organise press events and deal with clients and guests of the events with the ability of a gracious host. In addition, the Executive Diploma will prepare students with the knowledge and ability to research, write effective press releases and negotiate with the press and media agencies on their publication.
The industry-driven subjects of this Executive Diploma and the knowledge gained from them will ensure graduates become a vital expert in Mass Communication.
