Uncle Choy Trusts SEGi College For It’s Education Excellence
“Thanks to SEGi College, my son passes his A-Level with flying colours! That was why he was accepted to study in Queens University. And the result of it, my son is now a manager working in one of the biggest international bank in Malaysia,” said Choy proudly. Uncle Choy’s second son is also an alumnus of SEGi College. Like his eldest brother, he did his A-Level at SEGi College. Thanks to his outstanding result, he was accepted by Lincoln University, New Zealand, another world class university in the world, to do his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Uncle Choy’s second son is now pursuing a successful career as an auditor in a local bank. With the 2 older children having climbing the ladder in the banking industry, Uncle Choy’s fourth son did not follow in his brothers’ footsteps. With an interest in science, he took up an engineering programme at SEGi. “My fourth son is one of the proud alumni of SEGi College. He did his A-Level in SEGi College like his brothers, but he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. And now, he is working in the United Kingdom as a qualified Chemical Engineer at Huntsman Corporation,” shared Choy proudly. Inspired by her brother’s success in engineering drew Choy Sook Yan to pursue the Diploma in Chemical Engineering at SEGi College. Sook Yan’s is Uncle Choy’s youngest daughter and currently who is currently studying at the Subang Jaya campus. “I am so happy that Sook Yan passed her SPM with 11 As, and that qualified herself to receive the High Achiever Scholarship (HAS) offered by SEGi College,” said Uncle Choy happily. When asked about his plan for his daughter, Uncle Choy explained, “SEGi College will be offering an Engineering Degree Programme in partnership with The University of Sheffield. I know it is a good choice as The University of Sheffield is one of the best universities in the world to offer engineering courses. I am sure the university will be able to give my daughter a bright future and career.” Sook Yan has managed to continue to shine at diploma level with a perfect CGPA of 4.0. “This excellent student is a role model to our engineering students, as she has shown tremendous discipline, passion in her work and is able to mix well with her friends,” said Dr. Wong Boon Kwei, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology. The twinning programme allows for students to study the Sheffield engineering degree 1st year at SEGi. SEGi offers the diploma programmes in chemical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering. Successful diploma candidates can pursue a top-up programme offered by the University of Sheffield or the University of Sunderland. Other than engineering, SEGi also offers programmes in business and accountancy, information technology, education and social sciences, creative arts and design, nursing, hotel management and American Degree Program.
