SCT Awarded MSC-Status Training Centre

SEGi College of Technology (SCT) was officially awarded the MSC-Status today by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC). The event was witnessed by YB Dato' Kong Cho Ha, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia .

YB Dato' Kong congratulated SEGi College of Technology in attaining the coveted MSC-Status.

According to YB Dato' Kong, out of the total workforce in Cyberjaya, 95% of them are Malaysians. “It goes without saying that Malaysian IT professionals are innovative and are as capable as our international counterparts. Many foreign clients buy our products and source our services. We are capable of producing knowledge-workers of international standards.”

“Who knows? With the talent we hone here, Malaysia could produce the next Bill Gates,” he joked.

 

The MSC-Status certificate was awarded by Dr. Yew Kok Meng, Senior Manager of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC) to Lewis Leong, Principal of SEGi College of Technology.

SEGi College of Technology (SCT) is an Institution of higher learning founded in 1982, with a niche in offering Computing & IT programmes. A member institution of SEG International Group, It is well known as one of the pioneers of information technology and computing education & training in Malaysia .

“Obtaining the MSC-status marks a significant milestone in SCT's pursuit of excellence in the field of higher education and technology,” said Lewis Leong.

SCT will leverage its MSC status by collaborating with the IT industry in various projects in areas such as research and development, job placement and attachment for its students and graduates, and staff upgrading.

The event also saw the re-launch of the Segi2u, an e-learning portal enjoyed by SCT's students.
