PETALING JAYA, April 3, 2007 – Looking for a dream job? Confused between what jobs you would be right for and what jobs would be right for you? Tune in to 8TV's latest reality offer to get some of the best tips and useful hints for finding the perfect opportunity and career for you.

Aptly titled Please Give Me A Job!, the nine-part series will premiere on Sunday, April 15th at 10.30pm, with the goal of getting Malaysian youths to be more interested and better prepared when embarking on a career plan of their own.

In an interesting twist, one candidate will be offered a job every week. Based on the ideas and concept from 8TV and SEG International Bhd, Please Give Me A Job! features 10 fresh graduates who were introduced to the real and tough working world, taking on different tasks each week in the hope to get “a job” by the end of the episode.

Please Give Me A Job! gives viewers a personal look at what it is like to be out there in the real working environment taking on immediate challenges, completing assignments using whatever resources available and more importantly, how well you'll perform under pressure when your capabilities and limitations are put to the test,” explains 8TV Chief Executive Officer, Encik Ahmad Izham Omar.

“The hunt for jobs becomes increasingly competitive these days. We are looking at the biggest increase in demand for people with higher skills and ability to do more complex and challenging tasks. There is a greater demand for people who have the skills, judgment and experience to deal with new situations where there are no hard and fast rules to follow. It's the ability to think on your feet and deal efficiently with the pressure or crisis at hand that counts. The series offers insights on how certain skills and knowledge come into play in different situations.”

“From clips and shots of the early stages in the episodes where our contestants venture out completing their various assignments to the parts where their journey of self-discovery takes place, the series will show young viewers that they can expect the same kind of perspectives when deciding on the kind of careers to embark on while searching for their dream jobs.”

Datuk Clement Hii, Chief Executive Officer of SEG International Bhd. expressed his delight over the network's partnership with his corporation in producing such noteworthy programme, “ Please Give Me A Job! is an educational and yet entertaining programme that gives a positive spin on how tough the working world could be for someone who is not fully prepared and willing to learn the ups and downs.”

“We give the same advice to all the SEGi College graduates who have just completed their studies and about to join the working world. Hopefully, with this programme, we are able to spread the positive message across to everyone.”

In the career adventures of who's got the right attitude for the right job, the series' chosen contestants (4 males, 6 females) from different educational background and qualifications will be divided into groups to compete for a spot of employment being offered every week. The remaining participants who fail to land a job will move on to try their luck in the following episode.

At the end of the season, in an interesting twist added to the series' plot, the final 2 who were not hired will have to accept and agree to one last final assignment that will finally seal their fates.

The participants will be judged by a panel that consists of a representative from the prospective employer and a HR consultant who will be present throughout the nine episodes.

Azah Yasmin Yusof, the former 3R (Respect, Relax, Respond) host will be the series' main presenter, providing details and scenario descriptions, acting as the link between the contestants, the show and the viewers at home.

Please Give Me A Job! highlights the contestants' series of adventures; from training and grooming sessions to improving communication and interpersonal skills to adjusting to the demanding pace working for reputable organizations in Malaysia .
