With 30 years of experience in providing industry driven diplomas and degrees in business programme, having more then 250 first class honours graduates, SEGi College has made itself one of the most prominent colleges in Malaysia.

Business programmes can be found in almost all the education providers in Malaysia. What makes SEGi College different is that the college emphasises on industry relevance.

“It is not easy to find a programme that is industry relevant. In SEGi College, we provide students with a broad-based knowledge and employment-based skills for dealing with business in a fast-changing globalised world,” said Hew Moi Lan, Vice President (Operations) of SEG International Bhd and Principal of SEGi College Kuala Lumpur.

“All business courses in SEGi College cover a wide range of professional skills and knowledge closely based on what the business industry demands and an extensive range of subjects and courses that will help students to master the business skills,” added Hew.

SEGi College is committed to preparing career-ready graduates demanded by industry and the new international knowledge economy.

When asked, Hew explained, “The standard of living overseas is no doubt higher than Malaysia. Therefore studying in Malaysia translates to great cost savings without sacrificing quality from reputable international universities.”

SEGi College offers 3+0 degree programmes in business which allow students the option to complete the degree entirely in Malaysia without having to go overseas.

“We have experience in shaping first class graduates. With an outstanding background of more than 250 first class honours, I am sure, SEGi College is a better choice for students who are looking for quality business programmes,” said Hew.

One of the SEGi graduates, Faye Lum who graduated First Class Honours in Accountancy and Finance from programme of the University of Abertay Dundee, was awarded the University Prize for the Best Student on a Full-time Honours Degree in Malaysia 2006 said that she enjoyed the course, especially the assignments.

“I think I gained more from the assignments as compared with the exams, and I was particularly interested in subjects such as social accounting,” said Lum.

“The UAD 3+0 programmes in Malaysia cover a broad and comprehensive business curriculum. It gives students an opportunity to study all aspects of business as well as developing soft skills such as communication and presentation skills. These soft skills are essential to thrive in the business world,” said Hew.

SEGi College has twinning arrangement with UAD to offer the BA (Hons) Business Administration, BA (Hons) Accountancy & Finance and BA (Hons) Marketing.

SEGi College has for more than 10 years, offered programmes in partnership with UK's University of Bolton, and Australia's University of Southern Queensland (USQ) other than the University of Abertay Dundee.

The University of Southern Queensland's Bachelor of Business is a popular choice of students as they are given more choice in areas of specialisation. Students can study for the 3+0 Bachelor of Business (Administrative Management), Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management). USQ business programmes are industry driven as the University have a working relation with employers in Australia.

USQ has been accredited with the Distance Education Training Council (DETC), an American public service organisation dedicated to identifying quality distance learning institutions, in January 2005. The University is also rated 5-star for entry flexibility by The Good Universities Guide 2005.

SEGi Colleges' lecturers who teach the programmes have both the necessary academic qualification with added industry experience. Knowledge and experience of the industry will have an added edge to the learning process as lecturers are able to relate the studies to real work life.
