Conferement of Award to Sa Thin Wetsandornphong for Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with Distinction

The ballroom at level 3 of Prince Hotel & Residences Kuala Lumpur was filled with 290 graduates and their proud families as they patiently awaited the conferment of their Master and Bachelor degree at the University of Bolton’s Award Ceremony 2009.

Above the air of excitement and joy was an anticipation of what the future would bring after study.

Of the 290 graduates, 14 received their Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, while other received their Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy and Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computing.

Professor Stan Oliver, Dean of The School of Business and Creative Technologies in his welcome address to the graduates and their families said that he was extremely proud of the success of the graduates particularly for the majority of the graduates who had to undertook their studies on a part time basis while fulfilling major commitments at work or at home.

 “You have not had the luxury of being able to devote yourselves full time to your studies. Being here today is therefore not just the result of your ability and application; even more it is the result of your time management skills, your ability to prioritise … it is these skills, in addition to the knowledge that you have acquired during your studies, which will stand you in such good stead as you continue to develop your careers and your subsequent input into society generally.”

Following the awards presentation, Professor Stan Oliver, conferred the students as graduates from the University of Bolton and wished them all the success with the hope of a bright future ahead.

Emotions were high as the graduates gave a standing ovation and showed appreciation for their family; when Sa Thin Wetsandornphong, who received his Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with Distinction, spoke on behalf of the graduating students. “…we would not have been here without the support and motivation of the individuals who are seated to your right, for they are our pillar of strength.”
