KUCHING: While SEGi College Sarawak is gearing up its efforts to promote higher education in the State and to pave the way for the next generation to achieve Vision 2020, its students have taken the initiative to spice up the College's Enrolment Days.

To encourage more students on the day of their enrolments, members of the College's various clubs and societies have set up booths at the enrollment stations in the theatrette.

Ranging from the Music Club's vibrant team of young musicians to the Tech Club's computer savvy members, both old and new students were also able to interact with the active members of the clubs.

“This round of enrollment is quite different to the ones conducted in the past,” said Organising Chairman of the event and Lecturer Jefferson Sim.

“It is a refreshing idea that came from the students who thought that the three days of enrolment deserved a little ‘action'.”

The enrollment drive will run from 9am to 8pm until tomorrow (Wednesday).

“This event will especially allow new students and their parents or guardians the opportunity to see what the college is really like,” said Sim.

“Many of the students are voluntarily helping out in the enrolment drive and you can't ask anyone better than the students themselves what it's like to study at SEGi College Sarawak.”

As a group, SEG International (SEGi) is one of the largest private education providers in Malaysia , offering students a wide range of studies from the traditional business studies to science, IT, engineering, media, arts and design, law and early childhood education.

SEGi College Sarawak has recently introduced several new programmes including the Lembaga Akreditasi Negara (LAN) approved Diploma in Tourism Management and Diploma in Hospitality Management, both of which allows the holders to articulate into UK or Australian degree programmes.

“In addition, our faculty heads and senior programme coordinators will be present to answer enquiries as well as to provide career guidance,” Sim said.

SEGi College Sarawak also offers interest-free installment plans to its students as well as to assist them in applying loans towards their studies.

The last day for enrolment for the Diploma programmes is 31st October, 2006.
