269 Diploma Holders Celebrated Their Memorable Moment With SEGi College

Long way of hard work and sacrifice, 269 diploma graduates eventually received their diploma from Professor Dr. Dato’ Pahamin A. Rajab, Chairman of SEG International Bhd and Lee Kok Cheng, Chief Operating Officer of SEG International Bhd and Principal of SEGi College.

The 269 graduates were from the College’s four faculties, they are the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Creative Art and Design.

Four Outstanding Student Awards were conferred during the convocation ceremony. They are Pua Chen Ying from the Faculty of Business and Accountancy; Loh Wen Chuen from the Faculty of Engineering and

Technology; while the Faculty of Creative Art and Design has Neo You Kent; and last but not least, Xiong Ying from the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences.

Xiong Ying is one of the SEGi College International students from China. When asked about her feeling about winning the award, she was both happy and surprised.

“English Language is always a barrier for me as I was educated mainly in Mandarin. Though being an Award winner is a great achievement, I believe that there are so much more to learn in order to understand a child, and that the completion of the course is just a starting point,” said Xiong, one of the graduates of Stage II Certificate in Montessori Theory and Methodology.

Xiong, who is also a mother of two, finds SEGi College as an excellent private educational institution. “SEGi College has delivered what they have promised, they had provided me with outstanding lecturers and well planned curriculum.”

Another Outstanding Student Award Winner, Loh Wen Chuen who graduated with the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is the youngest in his family is so happy that he is one of the award winners.

“I inherited my father’s passion for engineering. I am a car enthusiast. I studied for my interest. I guess that was what made it simple for me to pass with flying colours” said Loh happily.

“I would like to dedicate this award to my parents and my siblings for supporting me along my journey in pursuing my dreams. Not forgetting my teammates and SEGi College for supporting my final year project that granted me this award,” said Loh humbly.

SEGi College has always tried to make its students career-readied after they graduate. The college is introducing a new programme to help the students to be career-readied. It is called the Career Exploratory Programme (CEP).
“The Career Exploratory Programme (CEP) is designed to assist students to gain work experience in the real world in an area related to their programme of study at SEGi Colleges, it will the ‘bridge’ between their academic life to working life” said Lee Kok Cheng.
“These students may be graduating seniors who are looking for full-time work, students currently enrolled in SEGi College programmes who are required to do an internship or students currently enrolled in SEGi College programmes who are seeking to gain work experience,” added Lee.
