Five First Class Honours Grads for Bolton

278 outstanding graduates were conferred their award by the University of Bolton recently. 5 achieved the First Class Honours, the highest award in education.

“We are very happy to see that we have such a large group of intellectuals before us. Each of them have demonstrated true genius and dedication towards the pursuit of knowledge and excellence that promises a brilliant future ahead of them,” said Prof. Stan Oliver, the Academic Leader of Bolton Business School, The University of Bolton, UK.

The University of Bolton has a rich history background dating back to 1824 although it is one of the newest universities in the United Kingdom. Through time, the University had built a reputation as an innovative modern university with industry driven syllabus. The university also received accolades from Guardian Newspaper recently for topping the table of percentage increases of applications to all UK universities.

“ Bolton graduates seldom face difficulty finding job as they are made ready for the work environment,” added Prof. Oliver. “Our programmes are industry relevant as we work closely with companies of various industries in setting up programmes with the required theories and practicalities.”

Bolton 's offshore students studying in Malaysia are mainly working adults. The programme involve Bolton 's teaching faculty flying in to Malaysia to conduct intensive workshop and face-to-face discussions.

Graduating with First Class Honours were Ding Lian Foong, Ng Wei Wah, Pauline Koh and Tan Choon Keat in Bachelor of Science in Computing and Phong Chiew Khim in Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (BABA), Lee Siew Peng, said the programme was suitable for her as it gave her the flexibility to suit both career and personal obligation as she is a mother of 2 young sons. Working adults seeking to upgrade their education finds it a programme worth taking as they get to learn and earn at the same time.

“The Bolton BABA programme is an excellent programme. It combines theory with practicality, and it allows us to envisage what we learn in the work environment,” said Lee.

The Bolton programme proved advantageous for Lee. She is currently working as a Human Resources Executive. Taking the degree in Business Administration with the University of Bolton let her explore the business world that she has always liked.

“The programme gives me the insight of the business world with proper practical foundation,” added Lee. “As we moved to a globalised era, we need to broaden our minds to an international level, and studying an international degree programme promises a better understanding of the global business world.”

When asked about the plus-point of taking the programme, Lee explained “Flexibility is the main thing as I can do assignments anytime anywhere,”

The University of Bolton offers the Bachelor of Science in Computing and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.
