Aussie Lecture Sessions Give MBA Students Better Edge

LATEST INFORMATION…Dr Gray giving a lecture and the latest updates to the MBA students during the recent weekend session.

KUCHING: Students pursuing their Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia recently had the benefit of attending two lecture sessions by the university’s Dr Anthony Gray.

The Toowoomba-based Head of Law Department was in Kuching as a guest lecturer for ‘Comparative Law and Business’ and to provide them with additional information that could help them score better for this module’s assignment and examination.

The USQ MBA conducted in SEGi College is the same as the one conducted in Australia.

The curriculum and assessments are provided by the university and as such the quality of the programme is assured by the university. Students studying in Malaysia will obtain the same certificate as their counterparts in Australia.

“It is good that I have the chance to meet up with the students to impart them with the latest information and help them centre their attention to the areas that need focus,” he said prior to giving a lecturer.

During his two-day stay in Kuching, the students adsorbed first-hand information from one of the more prominent lecturers from USQ.

Senior Manager, Recruitment and Marketing, Mr Raymond Chai said the College wished to see more locals upgrade themselves as an MBA would benefit them especially if they were seeking to advance in their careers.

To help working adults and students alike, sessions like the one Dr Gray was conducting are held only on weekends, he said, adding that such sessions were held to ensure that those undertaking the Masters Degree were following the course guidelines as given by USQ.

“Such tutorial support allows more flexibility especially for working adults who are time constrained during working days and at the same time, give graduates the opportunity to seek employment and still gain their MBA.”

The USQ MBA programme offered at SEGi College is LAN approved and has many specializations including Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Finance and Marketing.
