When Christmas is mentioned, most people think ‘Santa Claus’, ‘reindeer’ and ‘presents’. Sometimes we need to be reminded of what the true meaning and objective of Christmas is, and that is what Youth Ablaze set out to do on 25 November.

The Christian fellowship club at SEGi University College organized a concert ‘A Thx Giving Christmas’ at the AGM on that Wednesday evening. The cost of each ticket was only RM5 inclusive of dinner.

The organizing committee did an amazing job decorating the windows and the hall to create the perfect ambience for the occasion. The stage area was framed with soft fabrics highlighted by Christmas lights and a Christmas tree decorating the backdrop.

The event started at 6.50p.m. after all the guests had settled down at their tables. The first performance was a rap song entitled ‘I’m A Saint’ by four very talented students. Then, five very sporting lecturers sang a few Christmas carols followed by a humorous sketch of how a group of clowns searched for baby Jesus.

There was a lucky draw, but not just any lucky draw. The winners had to play a simple and fun game to earn their prizes. Youth Ablaze also invited a special guest, Pastor Sandra, to give a talk at the end of the performances.

Pastor Sandra was a lively and entertaining speaker. She gave an insight into the message behind Christmas and shared about how she got into the faith and how it has helped her personally. Then, dinner was served.
