9 July 2007 - SEGi College Kuala Lumpur was recently graced by the arrival of the second tallest man in the world, Rajan Adhikari and disabled Nepal national cyclist, Chitra Poudel.

The duo were in Kuala Lumpur to spread the message of peace and brotherhood around the world, as well as to build awareness of HIV/AIDS and narcotic drugs, raise voice against child labour and exploitation and many others.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to meet with Adhikari and Poudel. It gives our students a chance to be inspired by people who have overcome difficult challenges in life, and who believe and are passionate of the noble cause for a better world,” said Hew Moi Lan, Vice President (Operations) of SEG International Bhd and Principal of SEGi College Kuala Lumpur.

The arrival of Adhikari and his entourage was well received by the staff and students of SCKL. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for many to meet and greet someone of such great stature, giving the students the opportunity to take photographs together with Adhikari and to ask him questions of his cause.

“Achievements of people such as Adhikari and Poudel are good examples to follow in life. They have strived to turned their disadvantage into an advantage and have used it to spread awareness of global issues that are affecting the world,” said Hew. “They are ordinary people with extraordinary lives.”

Standing at 7 feet, 3 inches (2.21 meters), Adhikari is taking advantage of his unusual height and fame to go about the globe to champion his cause.

Adhikari, 29, is Nepal's tallest man and is currently the second tallest man in the world. The tallest man in the world is Xi Shun from China measuring at 7’ 9”.

Adhikari, along with his travelling companion Chitra Poudel, 25, whose right leg was affected by polio since childhood, are together embarking a worldwide tour carrying the message of world peace and love.

Adhikari and Poudel, who come from the same Bayarban area in Nepal's south-eastern Morang district, began their journey on 2nd May 2007. The duo plans to complete their visitation around the world to over 125 countries in 10 years’ time.

The First Phase of their journey route brings them to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei. The Second Phase will cover other countries. The objective of the tour is to spread the message of peace and love, awareness about HIV/AIDS and narcotic drugs, raise voice against child labour and exploitation and many others.
