SEGi College Kuala Lumpur celebrated their 2009 Annual Prom Night on a Saturday, 14th of November at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The theme for this years’ Prom Night was ‘Masquerade’ and, as expected, the hall was filled with an array of colorful masks, elegant evening dresses and suits dating back to the Venetian and Renaissance eras.

The event was attended by 300 students and guests including none other than Vanessa Chong, one half of the Chong sisters who were recently crowned No. 1 in the FHM 100 Hottest Women polls. Other quests attending the evening of masquerade included members of the press, MYC and STAR RAGE, and also representatives from University of Abertay Dundee, UK who were so impressed by the Prom Night they plan to organize a similar event for their students in the near future.

There were performances from members of the Student Council, International Students Club and a saxophonist, who was an invited guest from Mama Treble Clef Studio, which mesmerized the audience with an exceptional performance.

Lucky prize draws and multimedia presentations from sponsors were shown throughout the evening. The food was great and the atmosphere captivating which set the tone for the long awaited highlight of the night, the Prom King and Prom Queen performances.

A total of 5 nominees from each category fascinated the crowd with alluring catwalks and captivating performances in hopes of being crowned Prom King or Prom Queen.

Following the final vote count it was Anand A/L Kunasakar who was crowned Prom King for his brilliant Michael Jackson impersonation beating all other nominees’ hands down.  Among the females, Kelly Tan Pin Shin surpassed the strong competition to be crowned Prom Queen beating other contestants through her confidence during the catwalk and her magical performance.

The event then drew to a close with the final round of the lucky draw where the happy recipient of the grand prize won a 2 day 1 night stay at the Renaissance Hotel.
