Today marked one of the largest events of the year for SEGi Education Group as SEGi College Subang Jaya, SEGi College Kuala Lumpur, SEGi College Penang and SEGi College Sarawak signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Ministry of Health for the utilisation of the Ministry of Health facilities for the clinical training purposes to further improve accessibility, efficiency and quality in the delivery of health services through education.

The MoAs’ were signed between by representatives from each centre; Dr. Lisa Tan, Principal SEGi College Subang Jaya, Mr. Lawrence Ngu, Principal SEGi College Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Jeffrey Goh, Principal SEGi College Penang and Ms. Stella Lau, Principal SEGi College Sarawak while the Ministry of Health was represented by Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Nasir Bin Mohd Ashraf, the Secretary General, and Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Bin Abdullah, the Deputy Director General of Health (Medical).

YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, the Minister of Health was also present to witness the signing ceremony.

The collaboration between the Government and higher education providers specialising in Health Sciences in the country is aimed at providing hands on exposure to students in the clinical services within a broad area of health studies and indirectly spur health industry.

Via this method of integrated agreement, the Ministry of Health is able to both provide resources as well as monitor the progress of the students placed at these facilities for they will one day serve the hospitals and clinics in various capacities.
